Parent Alert!
This is an urgent call to action from the Laney Site Council. As parents of students at Lucy Laney our voices must be heard now. Currently Minneapolis Public Schools are making a decision about the 2014-2015 school year that will likely have a direct impact on your child. An innovative co-teaching model is being used at Laney, and early results are showing strong gains in academic achievement. The district has given partial funding to grow the co-teaching model, but at this time they have not yet fully funded it. We need your help to ensure our children receive the education they deserve by demanding MPS supports co-teaching in Literacy and Math at Lucy Laney next school year. Make your Voice Heard!

1. Call the MPS Superintendent Bernadeia Johnson and ask that co-teaching be fully funded at Lucy Laney. Parent’s voices are powerful. One call speaks volumes. Call Now! 612-668-0200 and leave a message asking Superintendent Johnson to fully support co-teaching at Laney. You can email her too at Bernadeia.Johnson@mpls.k12.mn.us

2. You can also sign a petition supporting co-teaching on Laney’s behalf by texting the word Laney to:  612-315-8095

3. To learn more about the issue and read current media publications go to:  Laneyparents.blogspot.com

We all need to get involved to make sure our children are provided the education they deserve, so take five minutes and make your voice heard now. Thank you!
